Mac is a radical dude and he listens to some radical tunes which help him to do some radical moves on his snowboard. Watch and listen to what Mac’s got Jammin on his I-pod while he shreds one of the many resorts in and around Waaaasatch Mountain Range in Utah. Want to see more of Mac? Check a ton of other features we have done with this fool. Related: INTERVIEW: forty FIVE MINUTES WITH: MAC SPEDALE - Mac natty fs 360 - Sonora Pass “Nothing is constant. That’s what I’ve always though. Here are my top five albums right now but it will change again like the time before.” - Jesse Smith 1. Mike Ness - Cheating at Solitaire - Don’t think twice - This album makes me want to get in my 50’s gangster hot rod with a pack of Reds and hit the highway to nowhere. One of my favorite Dylan songs but Mike covers it so well it sound like he wrote it. 2. S.T.R.E.E.T.S( skateboarding totally rules everything else totally sucks) - Bobognargnar- Georgia street - If you can find this album, you’ll understand. Quit everything, get a mellow 12 and go skate with your friends with this playing the whole time. 3. Tom Waits - Bone Machine - “I don’t want to grow up” - Seems like folks turn in to things they never want. The only thing to live for is today.” I had this line written on my wall when I was17 and it has stuck with me forever. I want this song played at my funeral. 4. 3 Inches of Blood - Battle cry under a winter sun - Hall of Heroes - This is the ultimate shred everything album for me. The best part in the song is when Cam does the demonic “Can you feel it?” voice. Every time I listen to this I picture a Viking Helmut on my head as I ride my ghost horse into battle. 5. Descendents – Somery - My dad sucks - I don’t think my dad does by any means but this song makes me wish that he did. Greg Bokenkamp is a great rider, he burns Mammoth Mountain and his sponsors are Rome Sowboards, Val Surf, Grenade, 93-94, Doo-zee and Smith Optics. Here is his Top five music review from all the Time: #5 A certain live version of Me and Julio Down by theschoolyard - Paul Simon It’s just a great song and has good whistles in it. #4 Fishin’ in the Dark - Nitty Gritty Dirt Band -Good dashboard drumming song when I’m cruising on a solo roadtrip. #3 The Weight - The Band Reminds me of when I was areal young guy ’cause my dad used to play it on the guitar. #2 Lookin’ out my backdoor - CCR The Big Lebowski, what agreat movie. #1 Another Saturday Night - Cat Stevens I cannot control the volume, it makes me want to sing in public and I get goosebumps.I hope you like ‘em!
One thing I can say for sure about the Flaming Lips : They are unbelievable. This entire night was somewhat of a fantasy for the entire crew. It all began in downtown Cleveland outside of the The Agora Theatre for the much anticipated Flaming Lips Show. There I met up with one of the greatest graphic designers alive Aaron James Draplin from DDC. Along with Draplin was Nate Deschenes assistant editor for Snowboard Magazine and Pete Scheira from Shoptheblend.com. Ha industry guys, and the greatest crew for what was about to go down. I personally didn’t know what was in store for me but I was stoked either way. Annemarie LoConti “Thank You Very Much Annemarie” arranged free tickets and lined up an interview with Wayne Coyne leader and creative director of the Flaming Lips. Their was a little worry among the crew about whether an interview was going to happen so when it finally popped we couldn’t believe it. Back Stage we went and in came Wayne…….
Draplin was definitely the bands biggest fan and lead the interview to a 50 minute brain pick of the creative mind behind the Flaming Lips. It was great to hear these guys go at it. Draplin had something to ask and Coyne had an answer. It was almost as if Draplin was living a dream for that moment. The full interview will be out soon on Snowrev.com and in Snowboard Magazine.
The show was insane!! These guys are great and even though I am familiar with their music I did not expect them to put on such a great show. There music drew out the last bit of scream my throat could handle and toward the end began to take me out of the Agora and to another place. The smoke machines, strobe lights and lasers made for great visual effects. Their second encore brought about a song that sent me into a winding down daydream and officially capped the night for me. Ha, Wayne Coyne is a genius. I was definitely lucky to be in the good presence of many amazing minds tonight. Again thanks to Annemarie and watch these videos below to hear the Flaming Lips. Be on the lookout for the full Wayne Coyne interview on Snowboard Revolution and in Snowboard Magazine. They played some amazing tracks including… Fight Test: |
