One thing I can say for sure about the Flaming Lips : They are unbelievable. This entire night was somewhat of a fantasy for the entire crew.
It all began in downtown Cleveland outside of the The Agora Theatre for the much anticipated Flaming Lips Show. There I met up with one of the greatest graphic designers alive Aaron James Draplin from DDC. Along with Draplin was Nate Deschenes assistant editor for Snowboard Magazine and Pete Scheira from Shoptheblend.com. Ha industry guys, and the greatest crew for what was about to go down. I personally didn’t know what was in store for me but I was stoked either way. Annemarie LoConti “Thank You Very Much Annemarie” arranged free tickets and lined up an interview with Wayne Coyne leader and creative director of the Flaming Lips. Their was a little worry among the crew about whether an interview was going to happen so when it finally popped we couldn’t believe it.
Back Stage we went and in came Wayne…….

Draplin was definitely the bands biggest fan and lead the interview to a 50 minute brain pick of the creative mind behind the Flaming Lips. It was great to hear these guys go at it. Draplin had something to ask and Coyne had an answer. It was almost as if Draplin was living a dream for that moment. The full interview will be out soon on Snowrev.com and in Snowboard Magazine.

The show was insane!! These guys are great and even though I am familiar with their music I did not expect them to put on such a great show. There music drew out the last bit of scream my throat could handle and toward the end began to take me out of the Agora and to another place. The smoke machines, strobe lights and lasers made for great visual effects. Their second encore brought about a song that sent me into a winding down daydream and officially capped the night for me. Ha, Wayne Coyne is a genius. I was definitely lucky to be in the good presence of many amazing minds tonight. Again thanks to Annemarie and watch these videos below to hear the Flaming Lips. Be on the lookout for the full Wayne Coyne interview on Snowboard Revolution and in Snowboard Magazine.
