Nirvana is the creators of what we like to call grundge. Kurt Cobain and his dark and morbid lyrics had seperated this band mostly from the rest, which was hair metal at the time. Also their style of creating music was entirely different, they didn’t make riffs but instead just used a certain few chords in different progressions. Nirvana is one of the most influential and time held bands and will always be recognized as the forfronters of what music had become in the ninties. Nine Inch Nails are the forfronters of the industrial metal genre. Thanks to Trent Reznors ever changing style and infulence on all other industrial artists, music such has this has been able to thrive for over two decades so far. NIN has a very unique sound that not even the greatest sound technichians could even begin to reproduce. Santogold is a new act in town which consists of the former lead singer of ska band Stiffed. Their intriguing pop-punk style has everyone hyped to see the potential this band harbors. Santi White (Lead Singer) has a melodically interesting voice, technically the genre is pop, but with her own style it becomes almost a reggae feel. The instrumentals are a new-age beat style with classic feel and exotic rap beats. This band is definitely a band to look out for in the near future, they get everyone pumped and break it down. Support this phenomenal band and insure a great time shredding down the slopes, go out and get their record.

This French duo have stormed the Electronic music scene with great critical acclaim. They blew up in the ninties and now in the new century have begun collaborating with artists such as Kanye West. They have great musical minds and use them to the best of their abilities with songs such as “One More Time”, “Harder Better Faster Stronger”, and “Technoligic.” For a guranteed good time shreding and dancing at the same time, go pick up a copy of their record and tear it up.

The Strokes hail from New York City and they tear it up. Their creative New York style is evident in their guitar riffs and sick drumming. The song “Reptilla” would even get your old man pumped. For some of the sickest trick influence, go out and pick up a record, you won’t regret it.
